The 2019 Stanley Cup Finals will mark the championship and end of the 2018/19 NHL season. The Stanley Cup itself is the oldest existing trophy to be awarded to a professional sports franchise and it’s also considered to be one of the most important championships in ice hockey. Unlike other trophies awarded by other major professional sports franchise, the Stanley Cup or otherwise known as The Holy Grail is not made again each year. In fact, winning teams will keep the trophy during the summer and have a select portion of the team members name’s engraved on its bands, forever preserving the winning team’s legendary status.
The puck is set to drop on 27 May @ 20:00EDT in a best-of-seven game format which will last until 12 June for the seventh game (if that comes to be). The finals will pit the Eastern Conference champions, the Boston Bruins against the Western Conference champions, the St. Louis Blues.
In the U.S, national television rights are held by NBC which will then be shown on NBC, NBCSN, and CNBC. In Canada, Rogers Media owns the broadcast rights which means it’ll air games via Sportsnet. There are also many other providers offering the live coverage as well. Here are the game coverage breakdown for the different countries:
