Difference between VPN and VPS

My Private Network only provides VPN services, and not VPS services.

The differences between these two services are explained below:

VPS: Virtual Private Server

A VPS server is the sharing of a main host computer in a data centre. One host can carry multiple virtual machines where access is completely independent of each other. When logging into a VPS, it will look like your home Windows computer, save for some cosmetic differences. This service is usually used for various tasks from hosting websites to running remotely operated software.

The benefits of this service are high speed connections to the internet plus the ability to access the VPS from any internet enabled device that has a remote access client such as an Android smartphone or iPad tablet computer.

VPN: Virtual Private Network

A VPN is a networking option that uses the Internet to connect one network to another while securely keeping the information away from the public’s eye. As the name implies, it connects privately via a virtual connection. This keeps information secure and allows efficient exchange of data without having to invest in costly equipment to build an physical private network or company Intranet structure.
